Friuli-Venezia Giulia I.G.T, Italy
Crafted sustainably from an ancient indigenous grape varietal, Ribollo Gialla is grown in a microclimate in Italy's province of Friuli, located between the Adriatic Sea and the Dolomites.
The climate benefits from the Mediterranean sunshine by day and breezes off the Adriatic at night, allowing the grapes to maintain excellent acidity as they ripen.
A dry and refreshing unoaked white wine, perfect for summer sipping. Pale yellow with slight golden hue. Highly aromatic, with pretty white floral, tangerine and almond notes. A well-balanced palate gives clean citrus, Gala apple and slight herbal flavours with a hint of minerality. Precise acidity makes this very appealing and food-friendly. Lovely finish of lingering apple and citrus.
Food pairings include mussels in white wine sauce, aged cheeses or prosciutto. Can’t wait to try it again with grilled calamari. 91 pts. Excellent value!
